Winter Weather and Your Pet
Good day everyone. The topic for today is Winter and your pet. Do you have an outdoor cat or dog? Now is the time to make sure that they can stay safe and warm. If you don’t allow these pets in your home for whatever reason, you will need to make sure they have the following:Warm place to sleep; dog house, cat house… there are lots to chose from and you can buy a warmer from the local pet store. You must know your animals though because some will not like the warmers. I had two cats who refused to go in their warmed cat house and preferred the dog’s house instead. In that case, we put blankets in the cat house and removed the warmer. They enjoyed that much more.Ensure your outdoor pets have fresh, unfrozen water. Temperatures dip drastically in the night so check their water first thing in the morning. There are devices to keep the water from freezing and you may want to check those out if you live in severe weather conditions.
Lastly, check on your pets frequently and if possible bring them in the house!
