Four Paws Inc. Pimple Ball Warning

Published by kallicat at 12:57 am under Cats, Dogs Edit This

I have tried to fix the formatting on this several times and I am now giving up.  Please forgive how weird this looks.

If you thought all you had to watch out were your kids toys, that’s not true.  Pet toys can be dangerous to your pet and I will be listing some here that you should avoid.

1. the Pimple Ball from Four Paws Inc. is extremely dangerous and has been recalled.  You can visit http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/pimpleball.asp for more information about the effects this toy can have on your dog.

2.  Tuffy Pet Toys have high lead content.  Visit http://www.petfoodexpress.com/petfood/default.asp?pageid=99#spin for more information about this recall.

3. Crazy Dog Spin Meister has been recalled due to lead.  Please see http://www.petfoodexpress.com/petfood/default.asp?pageid=99#spin for more information.

In searching the web, there isn’t a really good place to look for pet toy recalls like there are for childrens toys.  If you find a site, let me know and I’ll post it here for all to see.  Additionally, if you know of pet toys that are dangerous or recalled, put it in your comment so we all can know about them.

I’d also love to know if you have favorite toys for your animals?  My Chihuahuas love little balls that we can buy anywhere.  They will all chase each other around just to get a chance at the ball.  I have also found that the uglier the toy, the more they love it.   Most of our toy purchases come from my favorite pet stores, PetSmart and Petco.  Sometimes we find them at the grocery store.   As for the cats, they love boxes, the bigger the better, and if there are packing peanuts in the box, that makes it even more fun.   Don’t forget to post a comment and tell me what your pet’s favorite toy is!

I hate how dangerous some of the pet toys are. I refuse to buy about half of them because you can see how the bells or elastic can easily come off.

The cat toys they really love are homemade things like wadded paper balls and boxes. They also have solid, ping-pong like balls, stuffed animals, and especially the turbo chargers.

I don’t have any dogs right now, but the kongs were always their favorite.

    My hounds only have nylabones.

My sister has all cats and their favorite is when someone uses a flashlight and beams the light all over the place and they chase the “spot” Now this is very safe. lol

I mistakenly let my chihuahua play with one of those toy chihuahuas we purchased from Taco Bell - you know, the one that said, “Here lizard lizard lizard.” It was cute until he ripped one of the button-eyes off and swallowed it when I tried to get it from him. To his credit he did save me a hefty Vet bill when he threw it up a few days later. Definitely not a safe toy for pets.
